    I am a lawyer and I’m not going to be as charitable as some of my colleagues regarding Mr. Ayoub… He is 100% WRONG for a whole host of reasons and he has NO IDEA WHAT HE’S TALKING ABOUT. Invoke your right to counsel and shut your mouth. I used to respect this guy but what he’s saying isn’t just incorrect, it’s dangerous and it demonstrates poor judgment that he broadcasts this terrible “advice” to millions of people. He’s an expert witness on firearms and shooting as well as a trainer and former(?) cop. None of that is ANYTHING CLOSE to the same thing as being a criminal defense attorney. Considering that Mr Ayoub speaks so authoritatively on subjects that he clearly knows ZERO about makes me HIGHLY SUSPICIOUS regarding the rest of his claimed expertise. He may be more of a self-promoter than anything else…

    Two factors I have to consider in this carjacking scenario (if it were a personal vehicle): 1. Is a loved one still in the vehicle (no brainer) 2. do I have other firearms still in the vehicle. A firearm is the one piece of personal property (an object) I am willing to defend.

    So, I responded defensively with deadly force and I call 911 ("win the race to call 911"). Can I legally hang up on the operator, even if they tell me to stay on the line, so I can call my lawyer?

    • @alexa.4402
      @alexa.4402 День тому

      Probably best not to, a lawyer can wait - if police shows up before you can call your lawyer just refuse to make any statements to them (make sure to verbally invoke that) until you call your lawyer for a consultation. Hanging up on a dispatcher is *usually* not a crime or anything like that, but it may be a detriment in court. FYI I'm just another guy on the Internet, so don't quote me :D

    • @papimaximus95
      @papimaximus95 День тому

      @@ASPextra "You have insurance for a reason." Just a friendly reminder to be more understanding/compassionate. Not everyone has theft insurance (i.e., Comprehensive Coverage). In many states, only Liability Coverage is required. The additional coverage can be quite expensive especially for popular makes/models. For a good number of Americans, those extra dollars are a non-starter. Losing their vehicle can be a devastating financial event as it is more than just a deductible. HOWEVER, that still does not change the legal fact about how much force is appropriate.

      I agree. People work for what they have and no one has the right to take it. People have the right to defend their stuff. Insurance is slow and finds every way not to pay, will raise rates or drop someone for making a claim, and won't get the thing back. I'd have a very hard time convicting someone who shot at a thief.

    I believe they were just explaining what prosecutors could use against you in court. Yes, they talked about a few examples, but the overall story was to get you to think like a prosecutor. Telling them why you carry it has baring on whether the prosecutor decides to bring it up in court. Also, if your attorney advises you to shut up, you're not going to sit and try to explain why you personally carry a medical kit. They may just bring it up to tell the jury that by you being so prepared and having over 500 hours of training and bragging about it on UA-cam, you were in the mindset of being ready to shoot someone, causing you to put yourself into a situation where you could use your tools and training. I honestly don't think they were telling anyone to never have a first aid kit. When I watch their channel I learn how prosecutors will use ANYTHING, first aid kits, signs, video, stickers, shirts, all your weapons, training, memberships, social media, comments, hats, modifications, literally anything they can use to paint you in a less than homedale light and they find out about they will use to win their case. Prosecutors are looking not just for physical things but questions they can ask that make you look bad to a jury. Sorry this is so long. It's hard to explain and get my point across in fewer words, lol. I like both channels, yours gives real life videos of lethal fights with advice and (to me) armed attorneys help me think about how everything in my world can be used against me if I'm not prepared and careful or even ready to go to court against a highly aggressive prosecutor. That's all

    Even more dangerous immunities: the absolute immunity of judges and prosecutors. This idea that they need it to do their job at all supposes some ambiguity in our Constitutional rights that just isn't there. Seventh amendment menas you can get sued for what you do and you have the right for that conduct to be judged by a jury of your peers. I don't go around doing anything a jury wouldn't like and neither should agents of the Crown(state). The United States intended to form a government OF the people and we should accept nothing less.

    Carrying a “kit” of tools to save life. The kit can be used for anyone but the primary wearer or the one carrying the kit… that’s who it’s for. The person carrying it. Just as the kit you are carrying is primarily for you. However if someone else gets hurt… the tools are there to help them and should be used. Even if the person you are trying to save is just someone that was trying to end your life but seconds before. In 2005 in Iraq… I once treated a severely burned man that had survived a botched SVBIED on my vehicle. The goal is to stop the threat… but once that is done… I would hope everyone has the ethics and morality to help anyone that was in need. Even the enemy in the middle of a combat zone. Do onto others. You will tolerate and accept lethal force being used on them and also by them against you. But if you were in the wounded mans shoes… how would you expect another human to do unto you. Never lose your humanity and Faith or you lose everything.

    Why do you not like the gel? What is the rational there? I think of liquid bleach gel and what its purpose is. The gel is to help prevent splatter. Splatter is most likely something you want when trying to hit a target like the eye. I assume this is the reason that “gell’ing” the fluid containing the irritant is not preferred. Another thought. Flamethrowers use jellied fuels I believe for multiple reasons including the gel holds together much better than a straight liquid which enables you to “shoot” it to farther distances. The gel also will better “stick” to surfaces instead of running down the surface. I assume the burning is increased because the fluid has less surface are exposed to ignite with the air when it’s in a liquid form. Can you increase the range of the stream coming out of the CS spray canister if it is gel’d as opposed to just a liquid spray? Any info would be appreciated. Many thanks. Great video. Great info.

      @@ASPextra fair enough. Thanks for the reply/info. So it’s the potency that’s degraded. That actually does make some sense. If you think of gasoline or water… if you took a cup and dumped it onto a surface and waited until it was completely transformed from the liquid to a gas, and timed it. Then took the same substance and “thickened” it. I can guarantee the non thickened substance will be gone first. As a gel the substance won’t be in a form that’s easily “inhaled” into the lungs… less surface area exposed and less ability to be formed into tiny enough drops to be taken up by the wind/fans/air… or runny enough to be spread into the eyes if sprayed on the top of the head as a gel it’s liable to just stay in the hair but if a liquid it can more easily run or be mixed with sweat or smeared with the hands or a shirt sleeve etc. thanks again. Great video.
